Bath Racecourse is promising an affordable Bank Holiday day out for families when it opens its gates for a packed programme of racing and entertainment on Monday 4th May.

The venue says this year’s event has been designed with value in mind, with a new “Permission to Picnic” offer allowing families to bring their own food and drink to enjoy during the day.

Under-18s will also be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult, as Bath Racecourse looks to attract families searching for low-cost activities over the Bank Holiday.

Alongside eight flat races on the track, visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of free family entertainment throughout the day.

The programme includes birds of prey displays, appearances from Super Pirates and Sporting Sensations, face painting, Inflatable World and trampolines.

The racecourse says the line-up is aimed at keeping children entertained from start to finish.

A Family Ice Cream Bundle is also being offered, with a family of four able to attend for £44, including four mini Ben & Jerry’s tubs.

For those wanting a different option, the venue is also offering entry to its Family Hospitality Zone. Priced at £45 per adult and £25 per child, the package includes access to a hospitality marquee with a children’s entertainer, games, arts and crafts, a bar and betting facilities for adults, plus unlimited pizza and ice cream.

Bath Racecourse has also introduced a new Wet Weather Guarantee. Under the scheme, if it rains at any point between gates opening and closing on Monday 4th May, visitors will be invited back to another race day for free.

Tickets are available through the Bath Racecourse website here.
