Some of the most popular and successful bands in the region have received the backing of Peasedown St John Parish Council, ahead of the Party in the Park festival in June.
Last Tuesday night, the council agreed to sponsor the Main Stage at this year’s Party in the Park festival, adding its name to a long list of other organisations that are sponsoring the event in variety of ways.
Jo Davis, the festival’s entertainment manager, welcomed the news: “To have our local parish council supporting Peasedown’s biggest event is fantastic news. Especially as they have agreed to sponsor the Main Stage, which is going to be busier than ever with fantastic music and dance performances.
“The talent we have performing this year is second to none and there’s something for everyone.
“We’re expecting almost 2,500 people to come along on June 10th. We have a full line up of live music with the Bath Spa Band, The Rosa Gray Band, Rubix Grove, Call the Shots, Maitree Express and DJ Pete Bailey, as well as fantastic demonstrations in front of the stage from Susan Hill School of Dance, Dweamah Dance and Boogie Bounce.”

Party in the Park officially starts at 12 noon on Saturday 10th June on Beacon Field – with festivities running until 7 pm it includes the Red Post Beer Tent, Riverfood Organic Foods, Maxi Smart’s 70ft inflatable slide, hot food, the Party in the Park Push Kart Race, and Official Event Partners the Lions Club in attendance.
Event Secretary, Helen Thorn, added: “This year’s sponsors are the St J’s Group, Bath Audi, Michael Gould Estate Agents, Care South, Gregor Heating.
“As well as seven hours of live music and entertainment, the event also features the ‘Grant Giveaway Extravaganza’, the Sara Holley Community Award, Peasedown’s first ever Official Push Kart Race, and Somer Valley FM broadcasting live with host Pete Helmore.
“Richard Wyatt, the local face of TV news for 40 years will be our special guest on the day!”
