A cake sale held at the Hive Community Centre in Peasedown St John near Bath has raised almost £900 to support those affected by the war in Ukraine.
Organised by Katie Chun, the event saw people coming from far and wide to either donate cakes or buy a slice of cake to take away.
Katie said: “Thank you to everyone who came along to support our cake sale.
“I felt quite emotional putting the cakes out, thinking how scared and sad those living in Ukraine must be!
“Thanks to the support of the wonderful people of Peasedown St John, we raised a massive £864.17p – all of which will be sent to Ukraine through the Red Cross Appeal.
“Make cake, not war!”
The Peasedown St John community has rallied together to raise funds and send donations to the residents of Ukraine.
As well as The Hive, the village primary school, local churches and businesses have all played their part in ‘doing their bit’ to support those in need.
