FoodCycle, a charity that provides community meals for people in need, is in urgent need of more volunteers to help keep their project in Bath going.
FoodCycle uses surplus food from supermarkets and local shops and transforms these ingredients into healthy three-course meals for people at risk of food poverty and loneliness.
The Bath project serves dinner every Wednesday evening at St Mary’s Catholic Church to people who are struggling to make ends meet, are dealing with homelessness or living on low-incomes but the project is in urgent need of more Hub Leaders volunteers who play a vital role in delivering the evening meals.
If you are committed to tackling food poverty in Bath, working with local vulnerable people and inspiring and leading other volunteers, FoodCycle Bath needs you.
The project is looking for individuals who can particularly support with community outreach to raise awareness about the service, and people who can manage local fundraising for the Hub. Hub Leaders also prepare and cook the food into a delicious meal, serve the hot meal, welcome guests and spread the word about the great things FoodCycle does in the community.
Hub Programme Officer, Nick Try, who manages FoodCycle Bath said: “FoodCycle Bath is a brilliant project, achieving really great things in the local community.
“We really need more help to make sure we can continue to support vulnerable people in the city.
“To do this we need your help – please join the FoodCycle movement to help us build our community through great food”
