Bath Philharmonia is gifting local people one thousand tickets for each of its own concerts at The Bath Forum for the duration of its 2021/22 season.

It is opening up the concert hall to those who may have never heard a live orchestra before or want to try something new.

The gift of a free ticket is offered as a “much-needed tonic” following the past 18 months of restrictions, and Bath Philharmonia will be extending their invitation to every household in Bath and the surrounding area.

Featuring the best of British-based classical soloists, the concerts throughout 2021/22 will feature a specially-curated tasting menu of music, designed to make the concerts more welcoming and friendly.

Details on the concerts and the special offer can be found at www.bathphil.co.uk/bathphilforfree.

Jason Thornton, Music Director of Bath Philharmonia said: “Listening to a live orchestra should be on everyone’s bucket list. We’ve all missed so much live music during the pandemic. Come out and join us for something new!”

Adam Powell, Bath Philharmonia’s Acting Chair added: “This is such a brilliant opportunity to experience the spine-tingling sound of an orchestra for the first time.

“Our talented musicians can’t wait to share an exciting mix of uplifting and inspiring music. We hope local people will accept our invitation to escape the everyday, jump in and join the Bath Phil family.”

Working closely with The Bath Forum, protocols are already in place to ensure Covid-secure concerts can be enjoyed by all, and government guidance will continue to be followed to keep audiences and performers safe.

Bath Philharmonia has been bringing people together since 2000. The orchestra supports young musicians across Bath and the South West and has recently developed a suite of learning resources for secondary schools across the country.
