Overnight closures of road in Bath being planned for utility works

Weston Road at Lower Weston in Bath will be closing for four nights for utility works.

Leep Electricity Networks Ltd needs to carry out excavations over a 15-metre stretch to create a new high-voltage electric supply connection for the former gas works site, which is being redeveloped for housing.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has approved the temporary closure of Weston Road from its junction with Park Gardens, extending south-east for approximately 60 metres.

The order runs from Tuesday 26th May for a maximum period of six months, but the road will only be closed when traffic signs are in position.

The works are anticipated to take place over four nights between 7pm and 6am.

During the closures, a diversion will be in place via the remainder of Weston Road, Park Lane, the A4 Upper Bristol Road, A431 Newbridge Hill, Combe Park, Weston Lane, Weston Road, and vice versa.
