Ben Howlett, the MP for Bath, visited his local TSB branch at 10 Quiet Street on Tuesday afternoon to lodge his support and nominate St. John’s as his choice for TSB Bath’s Local Charity Partner for 2016-17.
Each year, TSB invites local communities across Britain to have their say in which local causes it should partner with over the coming year.
These charities then become part of TSB’s Local Charity Programme that gives local causes an opportunity to benefit from fundraising and volunteering support from TSB’s branches and offices across Britain.
During the visit, Mr. Howlett MP met with TSB Bath Bank Manager Russell Waterhouse, before being given a tour of the branch and chatting at length with staff, hearing first-hand about how TSB is helping Bath’s customers and local communities thrive.
Mr. Howlett MP filled out a nomination form for St. John’s, a charity that provides accommodation and financial support to Bath’s disadvantaged young people, in the TSB branch and encouraged other residents of Bath to nominate their local causes either in branch or online at www.tsb.co.uk/get-involved.
Every nomination counts and one of the top three most nominated organisations will be chosen as a new Local Charity Partner for TSB in Bath.
TSB was built to help hard-working local people and the communities they live in thrive. To do this, the Bank works in partnership with customers and those in the local community.
Over the past year, TSB in Bath has partnered with Bath Rugby Community Foundation, raising over £1,500 through collections, bake sale and a sponsored sky dive.
Last week TSB announced a new partnership with Pride of Britain, celebrating ordinary people doing extraordinary things and showcasing the nation’s unsung heroes from communities across Britain.
Ben Howlett, MP for Bath, commented: “I am delighted to nominate St John’s as TSB Bath’s Local Charity Partner for 2016-17.
“Not only do they do excellent work already in Bath, but they have been instrumental in working with me to establish Action Against Child Poverty – a collaboration of charities and service providers here in Bath, with the aim of reducing child poverty in Bath and North East Somerset by 50% by 2020.”
Russell Waterhouse, TSB Bath Branch Manager, said: “We want to better serve our customers – this is really important to the team here in Bath.
“We were delighted to meet with Ben Howlett MP and explain how TSB is supporting our customers and our local community not only in Bath, but right across Britain. We encourage all residents of Bath to nominate their favourite local charity to be our local charity partner for 2016.”
