College Students And Staff Get In The Festive Spirit

Staff and students at City of Bath College have been getting into the festive spirit by enjoying a good old-fashioned sing-song and sporting Christmas jumpers.

The College’s Big Christmas Sing saw staff and students gather around the piano to reach for the right notes with a range of festive favourites, including We Wish You a Merry Christmas, The Twelve Days of Christmas and Jingle Bells.

The event had a real Christmas feel, with mince pies and warming alcohol-free punch to help keep the singers in good voice.

The carol singing was led by Reverend Rob Popejoy, the College’s Multi-Faith Chaplain, who also encouraged singers to spare a thought over Christmas for the less fortunate and those in need.

The Big Christmas Sing is a popular date on the College calendar as it’s an opportunity for staff and students to celebrate together.

Many staff and students also enjoyed taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, which raised about £100 for the Save the Children charity.

Everyone donated £1 to wear their most festive-looking novelty jumpers.

There was an impressive range of bright and ugly winter woollies on show, many sporting festive characters such as reindeers, snowmen and Santas.
