For one day only, voluntary and community groups across Bath and North East Somerset have an opportunity to meet experts from Google UK’s marketing team and gain useful tips to improve their marketing and communications plans.
Organised by inVOLve Bath and supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council, a free café-style event will be held in the Guildhall on Friday 19th August.
inVOLve Bath was set up by the Volunteer Centre in 2013 with support from the Council to provide meaningful employee volunteering opportunities across Bath and North East Somerset.
Mike Plows from the Volunteer Centre said: “One of our aims is to facilitate more skill-sharing opportunities between businesses and the third sector organisations throughout B&NES to help increase the organisation’s capacity to deliver its mission.
“This opportunity does just that with some of the sectors finest marketing resources coming along to advise us.”
Cllr Paul Myers (Conservative, Midsomer Norton Redfield), Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Cabinet Member for Policy, Localism and Partnerships, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for voluntary and community groups to gain professional advice which can help them to build their skills, helping them to connect with communities through improved communications.
“The Council is delighted to be supporting this exciting opportunity.”
Gastón Tourn, Marketing Manager at Google UK, said: “For Google, it is an honour to work with volunteer and community groups across Bath and North East Somerset and develop together marketing and communication strategies that enable these organisations to have a greater impact.
“In Google, we say that it’s often easier to make something 10 times better than it is to make it 10 percent better. With this perspective, we are excited to collaborate with groups of Bath and the surrounding area to 10x their digital communication.”
