Expert cardboard engineers from Bath have been helping Shaun the Sheep stay green this summer by building a 100% recyclable 3D pop-up, to launch his new online sustainability game.
From Shaun the Sheep characters to beehives, trees, wind turbines and other Mossy Bottom farm yard contraptions, the Colour Studios, Recyclable Displays team from Radstock, have built a 100% eco-friendly cardboard set for the new Sustainable Shaun game, part of Bristol’s Green Capital school’s programme.
Using Aardman’s world famous Shaun the Sheep designs, the colourful pop-up exhibition is built to promote the online Sustainable Shaun game inside the Bristol 2015 lab at Bristol’s Harbourside.
The game can be played on four dedicated iPad game stations inside recycled cardboard beehive pods.
Designed by Bristol 2015 and created by Aardman, the Sustainable Shaun game challenges young people to build their own sustainable city and hopes to inspire children to think about green issues and create a Green Capital Legacy for future generations.
Sustainable events and display specialists, Colour Studios were recruited by Bristol City Council’s design team to collaborate on the project to create a bright, fun and vibrant space using 100% recyclable materials.
Adam Carwardine, managing director of Colour Studios said: “We are passionate about using recyclable materials to create sustainable displays for events so when the design team at Bristol City Council asked us to work on this project for Aardman we jumped at the chance.
“The very ethos of the game and the brief to use 100% recyclable materials was perfect for us and it’s great to see the impact Bristol 2015 is having on the city.
“We are committed to helping brands and the event industry move towards using eco-friendly materials and think about the impact they have on the environment.”
