Bath-based Geometry PR has sponsored one of the UK’s leading junior tennis players, 16-year-old Eden Richardson, the reigning British U16 National Champion.

Eden has moved to the city having been offered a place at the Lawn Tennis Association’s International High Performance Centre (IHPC) at the University of Bath.

“Eden is a future star in the making,” explained Linda Donaldson, MD of Geometry PR.

“Her dedication to her sport is something to be admired, and the support of her mother should also be recognised as they both took the bold decision to relocate, when Eden was offered her place at the IHPC.

“Geometry PR is a big supporter of local sports and we have always enjoyed strong ties with Bath Rugby and the local cycling community.

“We were very impressed with Eden’s dedication and focus, which is admirable in one so young, and we are delighted to be able to support her and in particular allowing her to attend a few extra overseas ranking competitions.”

Eden Richardson, who started playing tennis at the age of three, has been in the GB Top 10 for her age since the age of eight.

She has represented her country on many occasions and has already won four U18 International Singles Championships, in Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Malta and Israel.

Eden is currently just outside the Top 100 in the International Tennis Federation’s U18’s World Ranking.

She also trains regularly with the National Junior Squad at the LTA National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London.

Currently, Eden is on a short tennis break, sitting her GCSE’s at Ralph Allen School, where she has been fantastically supported both academically and for her tennis development, since moving down to Bath in 2013.

“I have had a very successful two years and I am looking to continue this progress,” explained Eden.

“My aim is to rise up through the Junior World Rankings, qualify for the Grand Slams in 2015 and 2016 before moving on to the senior tour.

“I have always loved to compete and have been equally determined to achieve my potential.  The sponsorship offered to me by Linda and Geometry PR has enabled me to travel to key ITF events, most recently to Malta and Israel and hence I am so grateful.

“With this type of support, my great coaching team at the university and the best mum in the world, I have few excuses and I will do all I can to make everyone proud.”
