An employee from Bath-based Epoch Wealth Management will be competing at the prestigious Longines Royal International Horse Show held at Hickstead in July.
Jaime Long, who is an office administrator at Epoch, secured her place at the show – one of the country’s biggest outdoor equestrian events – after coming third in the coloured non-native pony class at this year’s Devon County Show.
She was riding her eight-year-old sports pony mare Flynfield Harlequins Grace, who has also qualified for the Coloured Horse and Pony Society Championship Show held at Arena UK in August.
This is Grace’s first open year in ridden competition.
“I’m thrilled to be competing at this year’s Royal International Horse Show,” said Jaime who has a degree in equitation science from the University of Plymouth.
“For show riders this is exclusively a championship show, requiring qualification.
“Many of Grace’s siblings have been to the Royal International and the Horse of the Year Show and her grandfather was a thoroughbred called Henbit who won the Epsom Derby, so she definitely has competition blood in her.
“Considering that this year’s Devon County Show was only Grace’s third such event, she is a very exciting prospect for the future and I am excited to see how we get on at the Royal International.”
