Eleven Charities and Community Groups from the Bath area are sharing almost £7,000 from Bath Building Society’s Annual Charity Awards scheme.
A further four organisations have received a pair of Bath Building Society hot air balloon tickets which can be used to raise funds.
The Awards, now in their ninth year, were established to support as many local initiatives as possible from the growing number of requests that the Society receives each week asking for support.
Chief Executive Dick Jenkins, said: “The Awards are very important to us and are a way for the Society to “give something back” to the local community.
“It is amazing the work some of these organisations do and the local people that they help and on such little funding, I’m just glad we can help!
“I am really pleased how the number of applications continues to increase year on year and this year is no different!
“I’d like to thank my fellow Judges for spending their time to help judge the Awards; they were the Mayor (Councillor Will Sandry), Alan Keeling from The Rotary Club Bath, Imogen Sellers from the BBC and my colleague Tiffany Hardie-Albutt.
“It was a tough competition but we found our winners in the end!”
The overall category is for the Charity of the Year and this year they have chosen The Trauma Recovery Centre (TRC) based in Bath.
Betsy de Thierry, Founding Director of TRC, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as Bath Building Society’s charity of the year!
“This support will enable us to continue expanding our trauma recovery provision to help many more children, young people and their families in new ways.
“Mental health statistics are worse than they have ever been and we know our therapy input can change the trajectory of a child’s life.
“We’re excited to be able to work together with Bath Building Society to impact our local community and see lives restored.”
