Bath insurance brokers Bluefin has shown its support to a charity that offers vital support to local residents who care for family members and friends.

Sponsoring the Carers’ Centre Race at Bath Racecourse on 1st July, the local firm helped raise over £1000 as well as raising awareness of the work of the centre.

Ian Sandham, Branch Director at Bluefin said “This is a truly worthwhile cause and one we are more than happy to sponsor and lend our support to. Bluefin staff are all part of the communities in which we live and as a firm we are always keen to give something back to enrich those communities.”

The money will go towards the Carers’ Centre appeal to raise funds to purchase a permanent base in Bath where local carers can take precious time out from their caring responsibilities.

“We are delighted with the generous support that Bluefin has given. Caring takes up a lot of time and energy and many carers can end up exhausted and lonely.

“It’s really important that they are recognised for what they do by the wider community and support from local businesses is an important part of that.

“Donations like this enable us to ensure carers have all the support they need to look after the person they love.” said Sonia Hutchison, Chief Executive at the Carers’ Centre.

The Bath Carers’ Centre offers support to people who look after a family member or friends who has a physical or mental illness, disability or is elderly.
