Gradwell Communications Ltd, a leading provider of IT and Telecommunications solutions based in Bath, have announced their sponsorship of GB wheelchair fencer Piers Gilliver.
As lead sponsor of Piers Gilliver, the company says this will reaffirm its commitment to furthering its corporate social responsibility programme.
Julien St. John-Dennis, CMO, Gradwell Communications, commented: “At Gradwell, we are incredibly proud to support Piers. Pier’s drive and refusal to be defined by his circumstances completely humbles me and everyone else at Gradwell Communications.
“We want to go with him, on what has already been a fantastic Journey. Gradwell are incredibly passionate about supporting UK’s talent of tomorrow, not only in the business world, but also the sporting arena. We are very proud to be able to help finance Piers’ dream to compete in the Tokyo 2020.”
Piers Gilliver first tried the sport of wheelchair fencing in 2010 at his local fencing club in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and he joined the British Disabled Fencing Association in 2011.
Five years later Piers went on to make his Paralympic debut in 2016 winning silver, which was an incredible achievement.
Commenting on the renewed sponsorship, Piers Gilliver said: “I am thrilled to announce that Gradwell Communications will be my Lead sponsor for the next four-year cycle, supporting me through to the Tokyo 2020.
“I welcomed Gradwell Communications on-board as a sponsor prior to the Rio 2016 Games and their support proved invaluable, giving me additional funds with which to boost my training programme.
“I am really excited to continue this relationship as I work towards Tokyo 2020 and my target of turning second place into first place!”
