Family owned and managed Bath business Tucking Mill Self-Catering has won three awards including Europe’s “Best Self Catering” destination in the first annual Corporate Travel Awards.

Alongside this coveted win, the family business also won the Luxury Travel Guide’s Luxury Apartments of the Year 2018 title and an “Outstanding Service” award for one of its cottages from GoHotels.com.

Tucking Mill Self Catering is run by long-time resident of Bath Ann Stewart and her husband Michael. The family business has a small, dedicated team looking after five properties with two luxury apartments in Bath city centre and three cottage retreats just outside of Bath in the hamlet of Tucking Mill.

Mrs Stewart said: “I’m so pleased we have been recognised with these prestigious awards. Our team work really hard to make sure every guest, whether visiting Bath for business or pleasure, has the best self-catering experience we can offer.”

The new Corporate Travel Awards are produced and published by Universal Media Ltd, a leading business to business publisher, and recognise the top travel accommodation to book across the globe.

Mark Palmer, Corporate Travel Awards editor, said: “Combining our corporate expertise with our international reach across the legal and financial sectors makes us ideally placed to recognise excellence in the corporate travel sector, so that our discerning and well-travelled readership can make informed decisions about their travel needs.”

Last year Tucking Mill SC was crowned the No. 1 UK Self-Catering Provider in the Luxury Travel Guide 2016.

This year, Ann’s two city centre apartments and consistently great reviews helped the business win a mention in the guide again in 2017, picking up the Luxury Apartments of the Year 2018 trophy.

Michael Barker, a publisher for the guide, said: “The Luxury Travel Guide Awards represent the pinnacle of travel and tourism achievement, championing the best in their respective fields; therefore to come out on top is truly an achievement our winners should be proud of.”

Fishermen’s Retreat, a two bedroom holiday cottage in Midford near Bath, has won an “Outstanding Service” award from GoHotels.com.

The award-winning property is family owned and managed by Bath-based holiday let business Tucking Mill Self-Catering.

According to GoHotels, the award recognises “selected establishments who consistently achieve a high customer review ratings in the following categories: cleanliness, facilities, rooms, location and service.”

Fishermen’s Retreat is a popular destination for holidaymakers looking for a tranquil holiday in the English countryside, while not being too far from Bath.

Situated in the Midford Valley in historic Tucking Mill, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is spoilt with a selection of walking and cycle routes on its doorstep.
