Bestselling writer Val McDermid will be at Bath Central Library on Friday 21st September at a special event.

The author will be talking about her much-anticipated new thriller The Vanishing Point at the Council-run library at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

Val McDermid’s books have been translated into more than 30 languages, with over two million copies sold in the UK and 10 million worldwide.  Her 25thnovel, The Retribution, hit the number one spot earlier this year and her latest, The Vanishing Point, is a stand-alone thriller.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council is delighted to welcome such a popular and acclaimed author to Bath Central Library. Val McDermid’s talk should offer some great insight into the art of writing thrillers – many of which can be picked up from your local library.

“This is one of a number of evening events we are holding at the Council’s libraries as we want more people to benefit from them outside of their normal opening times.”

Tickets cost £8.00 in advance (refreshments included) and are available from www.bathboxoffice.org.uk/boxoffice; by calling 01225 463362 or visiting Bath Box Office at the Bath Visitor Information Centre, in Abbey Churchyard.

Tickets may be available on the door for £10.00 (cash only).
