A number of public sector unions will be taking part in industrial action across the country on Wednesday 30th November 2011 over the Government’s pension reform proposals. Bath & North East Somerset Council has been informed by unions representing some of its staff that they will be joining in that action.
The Council is putting in place plans to make sure that, as far as possible, services will continue to operate. Priority will be given to essential services so that we can minimise the impact on our most vulnerable residents and to ensure that the health and safety of our communities is not compromised.
The public are advised that they should put out their waste for collection as normal. It is anticipated that there will be disruption to our refuse service. A smaller number of crews and vehicles will be operating than normal. If your refuse is not collected, we will not be able to return until your next scheduled collection. Please take your waste back in until then.
Kerbside recycling, garden waste and business waste collections will continue as normal. Out of our three Recycling Centres, only the Bath Recycling Centre is anticipated to be open.
All library services are anticipated to be closed, including mobile library services.
