A 24-year-old man is in the RUH today after being found with stab wounds at around 2am this morning on Gay Street in Bath.

The junction with Gay Street and George Street is cordoned off while Scenes of Crime Officers investigate the incident.

Police were called to the scene after the man was found with the serious stab wounds and he is undergoing surgery for the injuries.

The victim appears to have crossed from George Street onto Gay Street after being stabbed.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and are currently being held in custody at Bath’s Manvers Street police station.

The victims’ injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or information regarding the incident and ask that they are contacted via 101 or Crimestoppers.
