Man Arrested After Body Find

Avon and Somerset Police are currently investigating the death of a woman who was discovered at a house in Bath in the early hours of this morning.

The body was found after calls to a disturbance in Bennett Street just after midnight.

A man in his thirties has been arrested and is being held in custody in connection with the death.

Forensic teams are currently at the address as well as house-to-house enquiries being carried out in the immediate areas surrounding the scene.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: “Officers have confirmed they are keeping an open mind into the woman’s death, pending the outcome of a post-mortem examination, which is still to be held.

“A man in his thirties has been arrested in connection with the incident and continues to be questioned by police, who have confirmed they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.“
