Bath Cake Company’s Amaretto Cherry Bakewell Cupcake has reached the finals of the National Cupcake Championships 2012.
It will compete in the Best Cupcake Made With Alcohol category. This category is brand new for 2012.
Altogether there have been a record number of entries to the Championships, double the number of entries in 2011. Finalists from Britain’s finest bakeries and cupcakeries have been chosen on the strength of their recipes.
The finals take place on 2nd July at the Institute for Contemporary Art in London, where a top panel of cake makers and bakers will be putting the cupcakes through their paces. Judges include: Royal Wedding cake-maker Fiona Cairns, Great British Bake Off winner Edd Kimber, Konditor & Cook founder Gerhard Jenne, and Ms Cupcake, winner of the 2011 Rising Star Award at the Baking Industry Awards.
Cake designer and baker, Celia Adams was inspired to create the Amaretto Cherry Bakewell Cupcake by the popularity of her Cherry Bakewell Cake, which is a best seller in some of Bath’s finest cafes. Amaretto is a well known almond liqueur from Italy.
Celia said, “This cupcake is packed with flavour and has an added kick. It looks fabulous and the aroma invites you to take a BIG bite! It’s too good to share!”
Celia is also baking her Amaretto Cherry Bakewell Cupcake to order for customers.
