Time is running out to enjoy a torch-lit tour around the world famous Roman Baths during its late-night opening.

The world-famous Roman Baths has remained open to visitors every evening throughout July and August until 10pm, with last admission at 9pm.

Councillor Cherry Beath (Lib-Dem, Combe Down), Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development, said: “We encourage people to make the most of this rare treat to enjoy the unique delights of the Roman Baths in the late summer evenings, as the sun goes down and creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere.

“As well as experiencing the breath-taking surroundings on a late-summer evening with lit torches around the Great Bath, there is also the opportunity to get ‘hands-on’ with archaeology at our last ‘Tuesday Times Tables’ session on Tuesday 28 August, from 6pm-8pm. Members of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Roman Baths team and volunteers will be available to showcase different aspects of the Roman Baths and its archaeological collection and explain objects to visitors.”

The Roman Baths shop will also remain open and the restaurant at the Pump Room will be open for evening meals – last orders need to be in by 9pm. For reservations call 01225 444477.

Alternatively, visitors may round off their evening with a meal in the Roman Baths Kitchen in Abbey Church Yard where last orders are taken at 9.30pm.
