A challenge laid down by the National Association of Master Bakers to create a cake to celebrate the forthcoming arrival of the royal baby has been taken on by the Bath Cake Company.
The cake designer and owner of Bath Cake Company, Celia Adams, rose to the challenge and came second in the competition.
“I love designing and creating bespoke cakes for special events and what can be more special than the arrival of a baby. It was fun creating the cake and deciding how to portray the baby. I hope the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge see a picture of the cake.”
Celia said: “The cake displays the royal baby holding a hockey stick in one hand and a toy helicopter in the other, in the same way as the monarch holds the sceptre and the orb.
“I wanted the cake to reflect the interests of the royal couple and as we know the baby will be a future king or queen.”
The NAMB Competition was held at the Bakers’ Fair in Malvern on Sunday 7th April.
The cake is now on display in Bath Cake Company shop.
