Adventurer Ben Fogle is encouraging companies from across the South West to take a break from the 9 to 5 routine and test their survival skills in the wilds of Dartmoor in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

The charity’s annual Corporate Challenge is taking place on Saturday 19th May at Okehampton Training Camp on Dartmoor.  Teams will battle it out for the Corporate Challenge Cup (for the toughest Extreme course) or the Corporate Challenge Shield (for the Challenge level) and raise money for life-limited children in the region. Teams will have seven hours to compete both on foot and bike, facing a variety of outdoor adventures and team challenges.

Ben, whose challenges include racing across Antarctica and climbing Kilimanjaro, is calling on organisations to take on the CHSW challenge:
“Being a father myself I am hugely inspired by the support that Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) provides to life-limited children and their families.   The CHSW Corporate Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to get away from your desk into the wilds of Dartmoor for an unforgettable teambuilding experience.

“Having support has got me through tough times during a number of my adventures and I’m sure the groups taking part in the Corporate Challenge will return to the office with a stronger bond and renewed respect for their workmates!”

Kate Fisher, CHSW Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser explains how taking part can have real benefits for companies: “The day will be as mentally challenging as it is physically. With every second counting towards your total score team-work and decision making skills will be key to success.  This is the ideal way to discover your colleagues’ hidden talents and get your team working in harmony.”

Corporate teams of 4-6 people from businesses across the South West can enter the Corporate Challenge 2012.  To sign up we ask for £35 pp registration (£45 if you need us to provide your bike and helmet) and each team needs to pledge to raise a minimum of £1,000. Call 01275 866600 or visit http://www.chsw.org.uk/corporatechallenge  to download your registration form today.  The first ten teams to sign up will be entered into a draw to win a team-building day with event organizers, Ibex.
