Avon Fire and Rescue came to the rescue of a canal boat situated behind the former Windsor Castle Inn after it became flooded yesterday evening.
Just before quarter-to-seven last night, crews were called to the scene on the Upper Bristol Road to reports that a vessel was taking on water and was at risk of sinking.
When crews arrived they were met by the owner, a man in his 40s, who lived on the vessel.
It seems the internal fresh water supply had ruptured, flooding the bilge area of the boat. The fire service assisted by pumping out the water and were on scene for around an hour.
Fortunately no one was hurt. As the flooding was contained to the bilge area the living area of the boat was not damaged.
