Right now, The Pig is mostly…

PLANNING on getting up-close-and-personal with Dame Prue Leith when the legendary, iconic GBBO judge offers us a sneak preview of her one woman work-in-progress show at the Rondo Theatre on Tuesday 20/Wednesday 21 September. Forget the Hollywood Handshake; the Prue Pat is where it’s at! More here…

EAGERLY anticipating saying konnichiwa to Joe Prout, speciality brands whisky ambassador from Nikka Whisky Distilling Co, when he visits Robun (George Street) to host the restaurant’s first whisky masterclass on the evening of Thursday 22 September. Expect a welcome drink on arrival followed by six expressions from the Tokyo-based distillery accompanied by a selection of zensai (appetisers) all for just £45pp, plus the very generous offer of 25% off dinner in the restaurant on the day of the event (a highly recommended experience in itself). More here…

INTRIGUED by the Coppa Club Bath Townhouse, the rather sophisticated new kid on the Old Bond Street block (where Gap used to be), serving everything from breakfast and lunch to late night snacks in unique-to-Bath surroundings. More here…

GETTING cheesy at Novel Wines on Thursday 25 August when a unique wine and cheese tasting offers us a chance to taste a selection of wines from around the world expertly matched with cheese from Nibbles, Bath’s oldest and best cheesemonger. Can’t make the date? There are more in the pipeline, the next one being on Thursday 8 September. More here…

BREATHING a huge sigh of relief at the news that Goulash (which specialises, as the name might suggest, in glorious goulash in traditional, panini, wrap, bap and veggie formats, all made to order from a secret family recipe using locally sourced, organic ingredients) hasn’t disappeared from the scene, and has actually just relocated from Green Park Station market to bigger premises at 78 Lower Bristol Road, open from 4pm-11pm seven days a week. Hoorah! More here…
