A wonderfully evocative piece by Pavilion Dance South West created and performed by Claire Benson brings a mix of colour and music to The Egg.
Based around the Tin Forest, which raises the awareness around single-use plastic in the oceans, there is an imagined world where a soul searches and finds wonder in all around.
There are beautifully imagined creatures and some more obvious ones that are released and found amid the decay of driftwood and debris created by designer Holly Miller.
The original music by Chris Benstead is atmospheric which alongside the soul creates a mesmerising visual narration.
The ingenuity and integrity of delivery holds the audience throughout. The arrival of the bird provides a flash of colour, joy and hope.
Claire Benson is a clear talent with a carefully crafted and considered piece. Lighting by Matt Smee gives the underlying changes in weather and mood with ease allowing the work to flow seamlessly throughout.
Aimed at 4+, this is a beautifully created work which holds the very youngest engaged throughout and a wonderful introduction to dance and storytelling.
