Blood Brothers continues to wow audiences across all ages.

This classic piece of musical theatre based around the story of twins separated at birth and who go on to lead very different lives; is as popular as ever and still brings a full house to a standing ovation with ease.

The sound mix on this occasion was absolutely perfect with the band under the control of Matt Malone with Bo Collier on the sound desk.

Niki Colwell Evans as Mrs. Johnstone is utterly believable experiencing hardship and loss whilst using the music to extend her characterisation and story with great detail. Her vocals are strong and alongside the rest of the cast create a great soundscape.

Sean Jones as Mickey is a regular favourite who captures the hearts of the audience from the outset growing up in a playground of imagination until the reality of the brutal world hits.

Joe Sleight as Eddie is a great foil. Ensuring the friendship with Mickey is nurtured with care and his love for Linda developing gradually.

Scott Anson as Narrator is an imposing arbiter – narrating, overseeing and leading the story throughout.

The cast multi role with ease; showing again why this production has become a favourite for school trips.

There is so much to enjoy and the evening passes in a whirl of emotions due to the witty script and fine songs which always push the story forward into new territory.

This is an excellent production and easily one of the best casts to have visited in recent years. Grab a ticket if you can.
