On a short holiday from Scotland staying with family in Bathampton 3 weeks ago, I was taking my two grandchildren to the cinema in James Street on Thursday 27th July when I slipped and fell on the wet pavement.

Two complete strangers came to my help – a lady and gentleman who were strangers themselves.

Both gave me much needed assistance and as I didn’t get their names I wonder if through your page I could say a big thank you to them. The gentleman waited until I contacted my son who took me to the hospital where they put my broken hand into a cast.

Thanks also to Senior Sister Carly and the A & E team at Royal United Hospital for caring for me and giving my young grandchildren a chance to see the x-rays of my hand which they found totally awesome.

Sister Carly also arranged an appointment for me at my local hospital on my return home. I still have a splint on my hand however I am recovering well and grateful to the Good Samaritans who came to my aid.
