Choirs set to sing their hearts out for Bath’s homeless charity Genesis Trust

The walls of St. Michael’s Without Church in Bath will resound with beautiful choral music during the weekend of 9th-10th July when two accomplished choirs hold concerts in aid of the Genesis Trust.

Local chamber choir Capella Nova will perform on 9th July at 7.30pm and tickets (£12) can be bought at the Bath Box Office or on the door.

The performance, Magnificat, will be led by musical director Tony Shield. It will feature English choral music spanning 500 years, including music by William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Henry Purcell.

On Sunday 10th July, a visiting American Choir Festival Chorale Oregon, from Salem, Oregon with director Dr. Solveig Holmquist will perform at 4pm and will hold a retiring collection in aid of Genesis Trust.

The choir has performed at Carnegie Hall & the Lincoln Centre in New York in the past.

The performance will consist of a wide variety of styles of American choral music through history including Shaker , Gospel and contemporary. Entry is free.
