There’s a new market coming to Bath – and it’s one that you’ll definitely want to visit. The Bath Vintage & Antiques Market (known as the Bath V&A) is a new monthly event coming to Green Park Station in the City.
Featuring an ‘Aladdin’s cave of market stalls’ with all sorts of bygone treasures including furniture, jewellery, ‘brantiques’ (upcycled furniture), vintage fashion & accessories, decorative homewares, kitchenware, silverware & chinaware, upholstery, garden wares, recycled products, clocks, cameras, books, crafts and paintings by local artists.
Opening on Sunday 26th June 2011, it will be then be a monthly event on the last Sunday of each month.
As well as the lovely vintage and antiques on display, there will also be a selection of family fun activities such as live music provided by Buskers Festival, Mrs Stokes’ tearom – providing delicious cake on vintage china, a licensed bar and even a BBQ for when you get a bit peckish after all that antique hunting.
“Apart from being a great day out, the market taps into the current need to be resourceful, green and thrifty in these times of recession. By buying quality pre-loved items, you’re getting something that’s built to last, has enduring appeal and is a eco-conscious alternative to the throwaway society we’re all trying to put behind us. “
The event is free to attend, and is on every last Sunday of each month, beginning on the 26th June 2011.
A bumper Christmas market is also planned for the end of November.
