Essential safety improvement work to the B3108 Lower Stoke Road at the junction with the A36 near Bath has been completed ahead of schedule, and the road has been reopened.
Bath & North East Somerset Council’s contractor Skanska has worked weekends and put in additional resources, and as a result the work has been completed a week and a half ahead of schedule.
The work involved putting in a protective kerb and barrier along the embankment on the approach to the A36 traffic lights.
In conjunction with Highway England, the opportunity was also taken during the closure to upgrade traffic signals on the Lower Stoke leg of the junction, and Wiltshire Council also carried out verge maintenance works on their section of the road.
