The Vitality Bath Half Marathon has been shortlisted for the first time for Best Half Marathon at The Running Awards 2016, with local residents being invited to vote for the city event.

The 2016 race took place on 13th March and was a day of records and achievements, a fitting celebration of the event’s 35th anniversary.

The Vitality Bath Half Marathon is one of 12 half marathons to have been shortlisted in the prestigious Running Awards which take place at indigo at The O2 in London on 22nd April 2016.

Voting at The Running Awards is now closed in most categories except for Best Half Marathon, Best Marathon and Favourite Charity.

Voting for the Half Marathon and Marathon categories closes at 6pm on Wednesday 20th April, and the Charity category remains open until 10.00pm on the awards evening.

The Running Awards is an independent annual awards ceremony celebrating the very best of running and its culture under one roof, with runners and consumers nominating and voting for their favourite products, brands, publications, sports retailers, charities and events.

Voting is quick and simple, all you need is your name and email address. Go to http://therunningawards.com/vote/30/32#vote and vote for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon before 6pm on 20th April.

Gold at The Running Awards would complete a hat trick of wins for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon, which has recently won both the Event category and the Platinum Award for best overall winner at the Bath Life Awards.

Andrew Taylor, Race Director for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon, commented: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for the first time at The Running Awards 2016.

“It is an honour to be listed amongst the best half marathons in the country and we hope that our many runners, supporters and charities will get behind us and vote.

“We are looking forward to enjoying a great evening of celebration for the running industry after what has been a wonderful start to the year for us, with our double wins at Bath Life Awards in February and another superb turnout for the Vitality Bath Half Marathon in March.”

The Vitality Bath Half Marathon is one of the most iconic and longest established races on the UK running calendar.

It sees 15,000 participants run through the heart of Bath raising money for over 130 different charities, making it the largest single day charity fundraising event in the South West and one of the largest single day fundraising running events in the UK.

Entries for the 2017 Vitality Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 12th March are now open.
