Five Team Bath netballers, who train up at the University of Bath, have been selected for next month’s England tour to Australia.
Serena Guthrie and Stacey Francis will be joint vice-captains of the England team for the tour – they are captain and vice-captain respectively of Team Bath’s ZEO Superleague team this season.
They are joined in the England squad by fellow Team Bath players Rosie Allison, Sam Cook and Mia Ritchie.
The 14-strong England squad is captained by former Team Bath player Sara Bayman and also includes Kadeen and Sasha Corbin, Rachel Dunn and Linsdsay Keable, who are all former Team Bath players.
Due to individual performance plans and training priorities, Pamela Cookey doesn’t travel to Australia for the tour but will continue to train in Bath.
The tour is part of England’s preparations for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and England will take on state sides as well as teams from the Australian Netball League and the ANZ.
Team Bath’s netballers return to ZEO Superleague action tonight with a home game at the University of Bath Sports Training Village against Yorkshire Jets.
Victory for Team Bath would guarantee them a place in the semi-finals and the chance of winning a sixth Superleague title.
They are already the most successful team in Superleague history with five wins from eight campaigns under their belts.
Team Bath’s final home game of the Superleague regular season is on Monday 7th April when they face Loughborough Lightning.
Carter Jonas are Team Bath Netball’s property partner, Surridge are the Team Bath kit supplier and Skins provide the team with compression wear.
Tickets for the remaining 2014 matches are available now.
