Odd Down Sports Ground in Bath is holding a family Sport Fest on Saturday 8th August, with local residents invited along to get involved with a number of activities.
This free event, organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council, will offer a huge range of activities for the whole family on the playing fields, cycle circuit and 3G pitch.
The event runs from 10am – 2pm and attractions will include:
- Tractor Ted ‘Live’ Farm experience with sheep, goats, hens and Meg the sheep dog.
- Sports taster sessions – including rugby, fencing, football skills, disc golf/ultimate Frisbee and judo.
- Youth cycling activities with Sulis Scorpions, the Youth Cycling Club based at the Odd Down Circuit. 7 to 16-year-olds to take part in real cycle races on the circuit.
- All you need is a bike that is safe and a helmet, gloves are recommended.
- Wheel for All Family cycling session 12:30 – 1:30 pm.
- Tumble Tots sessions for 2 – 5 year olds.
- Skip2BFit – fun competitions and free skipping ropes for each family.
Councillor Martin Veal (Conservative, Bathavon North), Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “Free community events are a great opportunity for people of all ages to take a look at the fantastic facilities now available at Odd Down and having Kier sponsoring us is a real bonus.”
The event is being supported by KIER, the contractor who built the facilities at Odd Down Sports Ground, as a thank you for local people for their patience and support while the construction was taking place.
Other partners in this event include GLL, which operates the facilities at Odd Down on behalf of the Council; St Philip and St James Church; Street Games, and Old Culverhaysians RFC.
