Lizzie Simmonds, who trains at British Swimming’s National Centre Bath, led the way, winning a pair of gold medals in the 100m and 200m backstroke.

Simmonds, who has been selected to represent England at Glasgow 2014, swam a season’s best to win the 100m backstroke title.

Jemma Lowe, already selected to swim for Wales at the Commonwealths, also swam a season’s best to take silver in the 100m butterfly and also took bronze in the 200m butterfly.

Michael Jamieson, selected for Scotland for the Commonwealths, won silver in the 200m breaststroke in Monaco behind Germany’s Marco Koch.

Chris Walker-Hebborn, who will represent England at his second Commonwealth Games, took bronze in the 100m backstroke.

The quartet all train at British Swimming’s British Gas National Centre Bath.
