Today will see a range of activities for all ages on offer as Bath Racecourse hosts the Big Bank Holiday Family Fun Day in aid of the Jessie May children’s hospice.

The Bristol-based charity provides nursing care at home for children and young people with life limiting conditions.

As well as a full day’s racing with seven races, the event will see children’s favourite Peppa Pig making appearances throughout the day in the Grandstand enclosure, a Shetland Pony race, storytelling from Frozen princesses Elsa and Anna, free face painting, bouncy castles, garden games, free martial arts training for children, and Archie the mascot who will be signing up junior members to the Young Hooves Club.

Speaking about the event, Jo Hall of Bath Racecourse said “Our family events are always very well attended and we are expecting a good turnout for the Big Bank Holiday Family Fun Day as there is something for everybody.

“We are delighted to be fundraising on behalf of the Jessie May Hospice.

“The charity does very important work for children in the region and it is vital that the charity is supported by people and organisations across the region to enable them to continue in their efforts.”

Tickets for the Fun Day are available via Bath Racecourse or the Jessie May Trust.

The Fairy-tale package costs £23 for adults and £8 for kids and includes entrance to the luxury marquee overlooking the parade ring, with exclusive story telling from Frozen Princesses, opportunities for photos with Princesses, and Young Hooves activities (racing club), tea and coffee for adults, and squash and snacks available for kids all day.
