A doctor’s surgery in Bath has revealed plans to turn part of the premises into a house of multiple occupation (HMO).

St Michael’s Surgery at Walwyn Way in Twerton

St Michael’s Surgery at Walwyn Way in Twerton has applied to Bath & North East Somerset Council to convert the two-storey wing previously occupied by a dental practice into a four-bed HMO.

The GP practice says that none of the services currently available at the practice will be lost as a result of the conversion.

Layout alterations are proposed on both the ground and first floor to partition the HMO from the surgery.

Windows will be replaced, with the side ones being obscured tilt ones to minimise the overlooking impact on neighbours.

The HMO would be accessed from Walwyn Close on the western side. The existing entrance to the surgery on the east side would be retained.

The plans also include fencing to partition the rear courtyard.

The planning reference is 24/00064/FUL and the deadline for comments is 2nd February.
