Bath & North East Somerset Council have announced that staff working for their recycling contractor Kier, have begun industrial action in the form of an overtime ban.
As a result of this, if you are due to have your recycling collected on Thursday 31st December or Saturday 2nd January there may be some disruption to your recycling and food waste collections.
If your collection is due on Monday 4th January this will no longer happen.
Please note that rubbish collections are not expected to be affected so please place your rubbish out for collection on your scheduled collection day.
If your recycling and food waste does not get collected on Thursday 31st December, take it back in and put it back out on Saturday 2nd January for collection.
If your recycling and food waste is scheduled for Saturday 2nd January and does not get collected please take it back in and put it back out for collection on Monday 4th January.
If your recycling collection and food waste is scheduled for Monday 4th January unfortunately collections will not take place on this day.
Please hold onto your recycling and food waste and put it out for collection on Monday 11th January 2015.
Recycling centres at Keynsham, Old Welton and Bath are closed on New Year’s Day but open on Saturday 2nd from 9 am – 3.45pm and on Sunday 3rd from 9am – 1pm. Then as usual from Monday – Friday 8am – 4.15pm.
Facilities to recycle all of the materials collected as part of the kerbside recycling collections, including food waste are available at all three sites.
