There are plans to extend the 20mph speed limit through Bathford.

Bath & North East Somerset Council has launched a consultation on proposals to reduce the current 30mph speed limit in High Street from where the existing 20mph speed limit starts, extending it south-easterly for 500 metres.
A short length of 30mph will remain between the proposed 20mph speed limit and the de-restricted speed limit to create a ‘buffer’ to encourage drivers to adjust their speed more gradually.
The proposals also include reducing the existing 30mph speed limit at Bathford Hill from its junction with Bradford Road, extending eastwards for 400 metres.
The council says: “Reducing the speed limit along the more residential length of the High Street and Bathford Hill to 20mph will help create a safer environment for all road users, encourage lower vehicle speeds and support the council’s wider objectives for road safety and community well-being.”
During preliminary consultation, the proposal was welcomed by ward councillors and Bathford Parish Council.
The deadline for any comments or objections is 19th February. The reference is TRO 26-001.
