A new road in a housing development in Peasedown St John which had been left incomplete for some time has now been completed, ahead of schedule.

Jubilee Road, which is part of the recently completed housing development in Wellow Lane, had been left uneven, rough, and incomplete and wasn’t due to be finished until 2015.

Local councillor Karen Walker said: “Residents got in touch with us to raise concerns about the length of time it was taking to complete the road.

“Many have been living in the new homes for well over a year and, quite rightly, didn’t want to wait much longer for the road outside of their living room windows to be finished.”

Following requests from residents, Cllr Walker, along with Cllr Nathan Hartley, liaised with developer David Wilson Homes and Bath & North East Somerset Council, to ask for the completion works to be brought forward.

Nathan added: “We’re very grateful to David Wilson Homes and the council who agreed to complete the work early.

“It’s meant a lot to residents, and their friends and family who visit often.”
