The Bathford Cricket Club team and friends had a fantastic time cycling for The Forever Friends Appeal, raising over £3500 for the RUH’s Cancer Care Campaign, helping to build a pioneering new Cancer Centre.

The group put on their trainers for their Cycle-athon and cycled for 24 hours straight, with two members on the bikes at all times.

After the time was up, the group had cycled the equivalent from Bathford to Oslo. From generous donations from friends and family, the group raised £3554.47 for the Cancer Care Campaign.

A member of the Bathford Cricket Club community was affected by cancer in their home life, which inspired them and the group to fundraise for the build of a new Cancer Centre, providing therapeutic care.

Sadly, the individual lost their fight and died in February, but their family continued to fundraise – even taking part in the Bath Half Marathon.

Claudia Hickin, Community Fundraiser at The Forever Friends Appeal commented: “I am so inspired by the Bathford Cricket Club and their community, who have raised such a fantastic amount of money for a cause very dear to their hearts. We are so grateful for their hard work and commitment.”
