An action-packed Family Fundraising Day will be held in Peasedown St John this Saturday to raise money for the Hope for Harmonie Appeal.
Harmonie Rose Allen, from Bath, was diagnosed with Meningococcal Septicaemia last Autumn at just 11 months old – and as a result had to have all four of her limbs amputated.
Ever since, fundraising efforts across the country have led to more than £200,000 being raised to help pay for specialised equipment, home modifications and prosthetics.
The Peasedown event is being organised by local resident Carley Jefferies, who is a friend of the Rose family.
She said: “This Saturday is all in aid of Harmonie Rose Allen – to help raise funds for her future needs after surviving the deadly disease – Meningococcal Septicaemia, with the devastating consequences of becoming a quadruple amputee.
“Harmonie has not let this defeat her & is now happily at home after having her skin grafts, now aged 16 months old. Harmonie will constantly need prosthetics after losing all 4 limbs.
“Along with many, many other things to help with her rehabilitation. Let’s make this a great day for everyone.”
With games, activities, face painting, bouncy castles, hair and beauty treatments, and a chance to win a four-night break at Butlins, the whole community is expected to attend.
Local councillors Karen Walker and Sarah Bevan will also be attending the event.
Karen said: “Here in Peasedown St John we want to show our support for Harmonie and her family.
“Our village has a history of supporting others when they are in need of help – and so I’m absolutely sure that Carly’s Fundraising Day will raise thousands of pounds for Harmonie’ future.
“Please do come along to the Family Fundraising Day this Saturday.”
Peasedown’s Family Fundraising Day for Hope for Harmonie will be at Peasedown St John Cricket Club, Whitebrook Lane (BA2 8JH) on Saturday 18th April from 2 pm onwards.
