The special guest hosts have been announced for Peasedown St John’s 2015 Party in the Park festival, Somer Valley FM’s Pete Helmore and Luke Barnes.
The pair will be leaving the studio to help entertain up to 3,000 people on stage at the village event.
Pete and Luke have been a part of the station for many years, and present a number of shows including The Instant Radio Mix and popular daily Drivetime programme.
As well as a live broadcast from the event all day, they’ll be responsible for keeping the crowd happy for over seven hours.
Pete, who also works for a major commercial radio network, said: “Somer Valley FM has been at Party in the Park for as long as I can remember.
“As a local radio station we really enjoy being a part of events like this. I can’t wait to jump on the stage this year, and once again, help bring a great event to Peasedown.”
As a founder member of the station Pete has been a key player in taking Somer Valley FM from a Somervale School project in 2006 to becoming the areas only dedicated broadcasting service.
Pete’s wit and radio talent will be a welcome addition to the summer festivities.
Joining him is Somer Valley FM’s Production & Systems Manager, Luke Barnes who started as a volunteer in late 2009 and took on an Apprenticeship at the station in January 2013.
Luke is now full time staff and proud of everything the station has achieved.
He said: “At Somer Valley FM we pride ourselves in being the only licensed community broadcaster in North East Somerset & being able to attend events like Party in the Park is one of the perks of the job!
“We’ll be live from the centre of the event so tune in on the day on 97.5FM & SomerValleyFM.co.uk, we’ll see you there!”

Festival Chairman, Nathan Hartley said; “This year will be our best yet. We’ve got a full line up of live music with fantastic local bands, more attractions than ever before, our Grant Giveaway, and the Sara Holley Community Award 2015.
“To top this off, we’ll have Pete and Luke hosting. It doesn’t get much better than this.”
