Avon Fire and Rescue crews have been tackling a large blaze at a house in Combe Park in Weston to the east of Bath.
Five fire crews have been tackling the fire, after receiving reports of the blaze at around 3.30pm.
It is believed the roof of the house has collapsed into the three-storey property. The fire has involved the first floor and roof of the roughly 8 x 10 metre house.
Three resilience fire crews from across the Avon Fire and Rescue service area attended the scene, as Bath’s fire crews were taking part in industrial action.
Two further crews arrived at the scene after coming off strike to help with the fire.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the fire and used high pressure hose reels to bring it under control.
Two people were taken by ambulance across the the RUH’s Accident & Emergency department for temporary shelter while crews dealt with the incident.
The RUH have said they are continuing to receive patients via diversions put in place by police.
