Children from 40 schools in Bath have entered this year’s Fireworks Safety poster competition sponsored by Bath Building Society and supported by The Rotary Club Bath.
The winners of the five categories were given a money voucher to open a Bath Building Society Account, a 51 piece art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag.
4 – 5 years:
1st : Isaac Joynt, Freshford C of E Primary School;
2nd: Ryan Sharifi, St Stephens C of E Primary School;
3rd: Nathanael Mutandwa, St John’s Catholic Primary School.
6 – 7 years:
1st: Emelia Joynt, Freshford C of E Primary School;
2nd: Jayden Hulin, Bathford C of E Primary School;
3rd: Kiki Wagstaff-Dorrian, St Martin’s Primary School.
8 – 9 years
1st: Arlo Radcliffe, Combe Down C of E Primary School;
2nd: Lois Edwards, Combe Down C of E Primary School;
3rd: Lydia Barton, St Philips C of E Primary School.
10 years plus
1st: Amelia Brimson, Bathwick St Marys C of E Primary School;
2nd: Grace Gifford, St Philips C of E Primary School;
3rd: Grace Asplin, Weston All Saints Primary School.
The overall winner of the competition was Arlo Radcliffe, age 9 from Combe Down C of E Primary School.
The posters were judged on their Fireworks safety message and artistic merit.
The judges for this year’s competition were: Tiffany Hardie-Albutt from Bath Building Society, Councillor Will Sandry the Mayor of Bath, Rob Seaman from Avon Fire & Rescue Service and Trevor Dawson the President of The Rotary Club Bath and Alan Keeling from The Rotary.
All the children that entered the competition will be given a Free Child Voucher that can be exchanged for a ticket to the Display when purchasing an Adult ticket.
The Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 7th November this year at The Recreation Ground and will be run by The Rotary Club Bath and sponsored by Bath Building Society.
Tickets can be bought from all Bath Building Society branches, Bath Rugby Ticket Office, the Students’ Union at the University of Bath and the Bath Box Office Ticket Agency (Bath Tourism Office).
Standard Adult admission costs £5 if bought in advance, and £6 on the gate. Children’s tickets are £3 in advance and £4 on the gate.
All money raised at this year’s event will go to the headline charities The Trauma Recovery Centre in Bath, Friends of Young Carers and Time 2 Share.
