Talented young bands from Bath’s largest contemporary music school The Rock Project brought an audience to its feet when they performed at their end of year showcase concert.
More than 25 members of The Rock Project Bath, which meets weekly at Beechen Cliff School performed their end-of-year gig at The Roper Theatre.
Mike Aris who runs the schools said: “The concert was absolutely superb and we’ve had so much positive feedback from students and parents alike. They received a standing ovation, which goes to show how well they all played.
“We’re very proud of the hard work the students and tutors have put in. Many of them would never have imagined standing on stage and performing to an audience before they joined The Rock Project so we were all thrilled by the performances.”
Youngsters aged 7-18-years-old formed groups to play a mixture of pop and rock music ranging from Ed Sheeran to Muse.
Awards were presented to junior and senior school quiz teams. Student of the Year Award for the junior, 7-11, age group went to Lilijana Mcpherson and for the senior sessions the winner was Ben Wills.
The Rock Project Bath, offers young people tuition in drums, bass, guitar and vocals, while being tutored by professional, working musicians.
