Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are reminding people, particularly the elderly, never to open the door to strangers or unexpected callers after an incident at the end of March.

The reminders follow on from the incident on Tuesday 25th March at around 10am when a man talked his way into an elderly woman’s home in the Larkhall area.

He persuaded her to give him £24.

He told her his car had broken down and that he needed to charge his mobile phone.

He is described as black, bald, with sunglasses pushed onto his forehead and wearing a long black overcoat.

Anyone who may have seen the man or who any information is asked to call Bath police on 101 quoting crime reference number 30238/14.
