Curo will be holding a public exhibition on 18th May to show its detailed proposals for the first new homes at Mulberry Park, the development of the former Foxhill MoD site.
The proposals for the first phase on Mulberry Park include 276 new homes in a mix of 1 & 2 bed apartments, terraced houses, town houses, semi-detached and detached houses – ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms.
Two contemporary apartment buildings form the entrance into the new neighbourhood from Bradford Road.
The Bath stone façades are accentuated with corner balconies and large picture windows with stone surrounds.
Complementary brick elements and mansard roofs complete the design.
The Avenue, lined with elegant three storey townhouses, leads from Bradford Road to a new garden square, overlooked by three apartment buildings.
Tree-lined residential streets feature a combination of mews houses, coach houses and larger semi-detached and detached homes.
These homes feature contemporary architectural designs and innovative use of materials with different character areas creating a varied sense of place within the neighbourhood.
Curo Chief Executive Victor da Cunha said: “We are delighted to be sharing our detailed plans for the first homes at Mulberry Park with local people who have played such an important part in the design process.
“This elegant, contemporary design will help to establish Mulberry Park as a new destination for Bath and a great place to live.”
In February 2015, Bath & North East Somerset Council unanimously approved Curo’s outline planning application for the development of up to 700 new homes, community facilities and open spaces at Mulberry Park.
Mulberry Park will be developed in phases of around 250 homes. Curo will develop detailed plans for each phase with architects HTA Design, in consultation with local residents and stakeholders.
Simon Bayliss, Partner at HTA said: “The design of this first phase within the approved masterplan will be an important step forward in Curo’s ambition to deliver a high quality residential neighbourhood based around homes designed to reflect this historic area and meet the needs of local people.”
The exhibition will be held at St Andrew’s Community Church, Hawthorn Grove, from 12 noon – 7pm on Monday 18th May and give local people the opportunity to view the detailed proposals before a reserved matters application is submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council.
