Three people, two men and a woman, have been arrested by police after three others were assaulted in the Foxhill area of Bath yesterday afternoon, one fatally.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the incident on Sedgemoor Road in Foxhill at around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday 13th August.

A 27-year-old man and two other people had been assaulted. The 27-year-old died shortly afterwards.

The two other people – a man and a woman – received minor injuries.

Police cordoned off a large part of the area for forensic work, and have said the death of the man is being treated as a murder investigation.

A post mortem is to be held to determine the cause of death.

Three people – two men and a woman – have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.

The Great Western Air Ambulance and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were both sent to the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101, quoting log 0798 of Sunday 13th August.

Police cordons will remain in place for a number of days as the investigation continues.

Police officers and police community support officers will be providing reassurance patrols in the area and also taking information from members of the public.

I've just seen the news from Foxhill. My heart goes out to the victim's family and friends, and thoughts are with the entire community.
